This place is awesome. The wait staff was great. Fish tacos are the show here, along with the red beans and rice. A thought for the owner!We loved your food, and definitely would have come back the next night but we tried Chinese and it was inedible. Offer out of city travels a appetizer to come back. We'll still be back. Keep up the great work and say thanks to the staff!!Update: Another Grand Slam by this place and their staff. Visited Sept. 2nd. We visited again with 10 people, 4 smalls. Delivered our kids menu first to let the adults to enjoy our meal. Everything we ordered was outstanding. We ate out on the patio and the kids loved it.

Big portions, food is great fun setting

Great food excellent service and a cool atmosphere! We always enjoy visiting and dining at the Jack Russell fish company. It's a real treat to enjoy things that you usually have to go to the coast to get.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Limited menu. Good onion rings but rest of the dinner was just ok. We were there on a pretty busy night so maybe things weren't as good as they would normally be.

Was not as good as I was expecting. Maybe I'm just not used to there style.

Just tried this place out. We got takeout. A fish sandwich dinner and some Mai Mai. Very tasty! My wife and I will defiantly be making more trips to Benton so we can eat here.

Get food and friendly service

Fish sandwich is a great classic. Wings are always very good. Great atmosphere and ice cold Stag beer on draft !!

Best fish sandwich & coldest beer in Illinois! And, I cannot forget to mention the ownership, management & service are the BEST at any restaurant! LOVE Erin & Jason!!! ❤

Bad believe me is bad 20 dollar for 2 sandwiches and the fish is so dry no flavor and the bread is slices not even toasted its not worth even 5 bucks

Had lunch there on my way to Columbia, MO and everything was delicious. I had the catfish and it was exactly how I prefer mine, which is battered with cornmeal breading and fried to a golden crisp. The potato salad and slaw were also good.

Fish tacos are amazing. Be sure to try the cooked carrots and onions!

The crab leg were fresh. Enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip a lot.

The spinach dip was good, so was the crab. Waitress was clueless on pretty much any question we asked. They had no drink menu but "a full bar" that was mentioned multiple times, we had to look up drink recipes and they werent good at all. Every drink we ordered was left unfinished at the table. We were told the patio was full but multiple people were seated out there after we were taken to a booth.

Good food and fast service

The best place to have some seafood and drinks and feel like you are in Florida for a little while. They have an outdoor beer garden area, stage, Live Music on Saturday nights, great atmosphere, great service and great food! Bring your wallet, not cheap.

Decent little place. Definitely something different fornthe area. The one thing to note is their seafood seems to be limited. Fish and shrimp are primary items with oysters scattered in as a special. Seemingly a bit of history to this place so it is definitely worth a visit.

I have had land meat, sky meat, and sea meat at this joint, and it is all delicious. Tonight I had the shark steak. It was cooked perfect, and had great flavor. The beers were also delicious (they have IPA on tap!) and the wait staff is on point and friendly! If you are in the vicinity, go here!

Delish! There were 6 of us and the weather was mild due to an expected thunderstorm so we headed out to the patio. There was live music, picnic tables and a few nicer tables. The service was great and each staff member we encountered was welcoming and friendly. After an appetizer of deep fried portabella mushrooms, the fish and shrimp showed up. Everyone was impressed with the portions and the quality. We enjoyed a couple of pitchers of beer and Margaritas as well. Very good. The fish and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Thanks!

Great local place. The catfish that I had was amazing. The live music was great! They have music every weekend this summer!

Always delicious food and wonderful service

This is a jewel in the heart of Southern Illinois! The owners care about the total experience of their customers. We went with a party of 6 after the lunch rush. Restaurant was clean and service was prompt and friendly. We had a variety of the fish dishes, from the fish tacos to the fish sandwich and the fried catfish dinner. All were excellent. I personally had the fried catfish dinner and I have to say it was the best I've had in years.If you're in Benton and have a taste for some fish, this is the place to go.

The fish was good and had the grilled chicken on a second visit and it was tasty. The potato salad is awful. The vegetables were cold and cooked to mush. Our waitress was perfect on the first visit. Waitress on second visit was not as great. The cold spinach dip was surprisingly delicious.

Food was ok over priced

Just moved back from the Pacific Northwest... Land of Fresh Fish. Southern IL?? Pretty Darn Good... Onion Rings are Fantastic!!! Good serving sizes as well😋😋
